Redesigned Cover: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Redesigning The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency book cover was an exciting creative challenge, aimed at enhancing its visual appeal and adding a strong, relevant design narrative.
I focused on design elements that connect directly with the detective theme. I selected a dark color palette to create a sense of mystery and intrigue, which ties back to the title. The original fonts were visually weak, so I carefully chose typefaces that are both legible and reflective of the book’s tone.
The redesigned cover now features a magnifying glass as the central graphic, with the book title appearing through the lens, creating the illusion that it’s being read through it. I added a silhouette of a figure lying near the magnifying glass to reinforce the detective theme. Moving from the original orange background with bold typography to a sleek black cover, the new design centers around graphics that truly represent the title and story. Bringing this concept to life was an absolute joy and a fulfilling experience in visual storytelling.
